Christopher Lawrence To Host Arena At Dance Valley

Joining an impressive list of dance music greats such as Paul van Dyk, John Digweed, Sasha, Ferry Corsten, Tiesto and Carl Cox, Christopher Lawrence has been invited to host his very own arena at Holland’s and perhaps Europe’s most prestigious dance event – Dance Valley 2007!

The concept is in the name of the Arena – CONTINENTAL. Lawrence’s appreciation for music and talent stems from being entrenched in the business for over a decade, and so it was apt that he invited the crème de la crème of the planet’s best to play in his own arena.

Now in it’s thirteenth year, Dance Valley is the jewel in the crown of the European summer festival circuit, boasting massive and highly produced, themed stage areas, cafés, a campsite with supermarket and even an outdoor cinema. Known as "the Woodstock of Dance”, the festival attracts DJs and fans from around the world.

So, on Saturday 14th July, Christopher and his band of world-wide jocks will descend on Dance Valley to host the CONTINENTAL arena, presented by Christopher himself:

Gatecrasher One Destroyed By Fire [news]

One of the most popular club in the UK, The Gatecrasher One in Sheffield, is destroyed by fire.
On june 18th at 5pm, a passerby dialled 999 when he noticed black smoke pouring out of Gatecrasher One in Sheffield. By 7pm, police were evacuating neighbouring offices and a nearby student hall of residence; at 7.20pm, part of Gatecrasher One (formerly The Republic) collapsed. Happily, though, no-one is believed to have been injured in the blaze.

The cause of fire is unknown.

Ibiza News: DC-10, Amnesia & Bora Bora Closed

The rumours about a big drug crack down in Ibiza have been flying around for a while. Now, just as the 2007 summer season officially kick started, the authorities have shut down three of the island’s most popular clubs.

Amnesia and Bora Bora were forced to close its doors for one month, while DC-10 will have to close for two months, effective immediately. All three venues were also ordered to pay a 6,000 Euros fine.

The action is in response to local police and Guardia Civil based on investigations conducted during 2005 and 2006 and the allegation that the clubs did little or nothing to stop the use and/or dealing of drugs inside the venues.

Amnesia was due to open on June 16 with big nights such as Cocoon and Cream already lined up. Mondays at DC-10 started last week. Read on >>>

Johan Gielen mixed In Trance We Trust 012

The In Trance We Trust series on Black Hole recordings is one Trance compilation series that never seems to loose track of what its all about, excellent Trance. Volume 12 Is here and Johan Gielen is at the controls again.

I would say if you're into your Trance you will have at least one In Trance We Trust compilation sitting proudly in your CD collection. It's been a series that Black Hole has used to push forward its label talent and bring rising new stars into the dance arena. The last release saw upcoming Trance jock Phynn release his debut mix compilation that went down with good reviews and notched further up the dance ladder.

Its been a while since that release but one of Black Hole's early mix releases was done by Johan Gielen, number four in the series to highlight it and for me I would say it was one of the best mixes in the series. That can only be good news for the next compilation as Johan Gielen is the man behind the mix again for the 12th release. Read on >>>

Christopher Lawrence - Live from SAMC, Buenos Aires

Fresh from taking the #4 position in DJ Magazine's highly coveted 'Top 100 poll in 2006, American superstar DJ Christopher Lawrence returns to Buenos Aires for the South American Music Conference.

The South American Music Conference (SAMC) has established itself as one of the essentials in the industry and party calendar, as well as establishing Argentina as the dance music capital of South America.

With pre-parties and after parties hitting all the major clubs in the city with the influx of international talent throughout the weekend, clubbers were spoilt for choice with stars such as Sven Vath, Ritchie Hawtin, ATB, James Holden, DJ Dan, Second Sun, Eddie Halliwell and many more.

The closing event on Saturday night drew over 25,000 people, with Christopher Lawrence headlining the main stage. The first hour of Christopher's set - 'Live from SAMC, Buenos Aires' will be broadcasted by DBS Radio at June 12, 22.00 - 23.00 (CET).

New Releases

E-type has finished recording his new single in studio with Max Martin as producer.
At 23rd of May the new single "True Believer" entered the swedish single charts at no. 1!!! E-type himself says it will be a real party smasher.
He is also working with on a new full-length album but there is no info when it will be released yet.

Dj Sammy's new single and new compilation Balearic Masters vol 1 will be released in June.

Lazy Dee (Mr President) is in studio recording a new solo track and he is looking for a new vocalist.

Taleesa has a new song which was created in collaboration with a Swedish team. She is currently in studio recording the vocals.
Release should be this summer or more likely in September. Taleesa could also be thinking of stopping her singer carreer for producing.

Ferry to America:

Trance superstar Ferry Corsten is releasing the second DJ mix in his "Passport" series, this one called Passport United States of America. It's due June 19 on Ultra. The package includes a DVD with footage of his Road To Voodoo tour of the states last year. The DVD also includes a video for his single, "Junk."

The audio mix contains another Corsten original, "Beautiful," along with psuedonymous track "Isolation" (as System F), and the Doppler Effect's "Beauty Hides In The Deep." Corsten is touring to promote the release, with the following dates:
