Lange - Better Late Than Never CD Release Date

The wait is over; we can now officially announce the full release of Lange's debut album, 'Better Late Than Never'.

The CD version will be released by Maelstrom Records on 25th February 2008. It will be available at all good record stores and can be pre-ordered online now at selected stores including amazon.co.uk, play.com, and amazon.com.

The itunes pre-release has already found strong and consistent support among the world dance music elite including Judge Jules, Paul Van Dyk and Armin Van Buuren and it reached #11 in the album dance chart.

The album draws on influences from across the music spectrum including Trance, Techno, Electro, Classical, and Indie-Rock while the bonus second disc is a look back on Lange’s illustrious decade-long career.

The next single from the album, ‘Songless’, is due for release on the 3rd March, with the Original, Boy Hagemann and Cerf & Mitiska mixes forming the download package while the Original and Boy Hagemann mixes will feature on a vinyl release. For those who really can’t wait, all mixes will be available as a pre-release through Beatport.com from the 4th February.

All three mixes have proved popular among DJs and fans alike, racking up massive amounts of record play around the world.

There is yet more to come very soon from the Lange studio with the imminent release of two new Lange Remixes. His remix of Matt Cerf vs Evelio ‘Walk away’ is forthcoming on Deep Blue Records and is a deep and bass driven house affair. Whilst coming up on Vandit Records is a brand new Lange remix of Martin Roth vs Alex Bartlett’s ‘Off The World’. This epic masterpiece is Lange at his very best and gives a fantastic insight into what to look forward to from him in 2008.

Voting Opens For The Top 100 Clubs Poll

DJs worldwide are invited to shape DJmag's Top 100 Clubs Poll this year by simply voting for their top three clubs on the planet. While our long-running Top 100 DJs Poll offers clubbers the opportunity to vote for their favourite DJs, this is a chance for DJs to speak out and shape a definitive list of the best dance clubs the world has to offer.

Following the success of the past two years Top 50 Clubs, we’re raising the stakes and upping the ante to compile a full list of the Top 100, giving you more scope to big up your favourite world-beating venue.

Famed its forward thinking line-ups and attention to detail, London club Fabric was crowned Best Club In The World in 2006, before the colossal Space in Ibiza lifted the title last year. With more corners of the world opening up to dance music will DJs continue to vote for established venues or will some new clubs from off-the-beaten tracks make an appearance in this year's poll?

And who will claim the crown itself? Will Ibiza’s unstoppable Space clinch the crown? Or will it be London’s perennially perfect Fabric And how about the incredible rainforest vibes and killer soundsystem of Brazil’s Warung, or Berlin’s massive techno emporium, Panaroma Bar?

Whatever kind of DJ you are, be it a Top 100 DJ, someone new and up and coming, or someone who plays the local scene… provided you’re a DJ and have seen more than just your bedroom then your vote is needed.

French Artist Shonky To Release His Debut Album

It has been clear since his very first release, in 2005 (with 'Let Me Ask You' on Freak n'Chic), that Shonky is an exceptionally talented producer. At 25 years of age and with little more than two years since his first production effort, Shonky releases his debut artist album 'Time Zero' on Dan Ghenacia's Freak n'Chic imprint - get cosmic.

"The style of 'Time Zero' is kind of techno/hypno, with many roots coming from Detroit techno and San Francisco psychedelic house; always super hypnotic.. The album is spacey Shonky world, I used more pads, no vocals and all the tracks have an atmospheric feeling within. They all drive you into a universe which is why I gave them all spacey names.. Ultimately, I did what I do the best, danceable tracks."

The first single to be taken from the album will be 'Time Zero' - with remixes from Paul Ritch and Mathias Kaden, released at the end of March. Read on >>>

Armin Van Buuren wins Buma Cultuur Pop Awards

On Saturday the 12th of January the most prestigieus Dutch Music award the “Buma Cultuur Pop Award” has been given to Dutch DJ and Producer Armin van buuren. His brother, Eller, received the award (10.000 Euros and a Statue of Theo Mackaay) at the Bumacultuur area in the Oosterpoort in Groningen, in name of Armin, since he is touring in the South of America at the moment. Jes - Into The Dawn (The Hits Disconnected), the new album by Jes Brieden! Call it the flipside to Jes's 2007 release 'Disconnect'. 'Into The Dawn' began while writing songs for 'Disconnect', Jes always liked the intimacy and space of breakdown versions of the songs.

She started to get some chill out versions together, adding a few brand new songs along the way and it grew into this collection of smooth chill that could only be called 'Into The Dawn'.

'Into The Dawn' will be released this February / March on Magik Muzik, a sublabel from Black Hole Recordings.

Ernesto vs. Bastian’s Thrill Official Trance Energy 2008 Theme

The illustrious duo have a great start of 2008 as their forthcoming single ‘Thrill’ has been selected by ID&T to feature as theme for this years Trance Energy event.

Old news for whoever has been visiting the Trance Energy website the last few weeks, but still big news for Ernesto and Bastian!
The release will be released on January 25th on all formats. There will also be remixes, but for more news on this check this website regularly for updates.

With their new album ‘Authenticity’ hitting the stores early March, it looks like this is going to be a busy year for the guys! Of course the album will contain the Trance Energy anthem ‘Thrill’ and their classic ‘Dark Side of the Moon’. Aside that the album features exclusive unreleased material.

Tiesto Is Getting Married [news]

Tiësto, alias from Tijs Verwest, is getting married. According to Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf, Tijs (38-Years old) asked his girlfriend Stacey Blokzijl (19-years old) for marriage on Mauritius.

The wedding is set for the 10th of October this year. Where the wedding is being held is still a secret. They are currently enjoying a skiing trip.

International Dance Music Awards 2008 Has Started

The 23rd annual International Dance Music Awards has started. Vote for the nominees, in order to recognize the industry's best achievements for the year 2007.


Winners will be announced live at the 23rd Annual International Dance Music Awards during Winter Music Conference In Miami Beach. Voting ends on January 23, 2008.

This year there are 49 sections where visitors can vote: Best Underground Dance Track, Best Global DJ, Best Music Publication, Best American Dance Record Label, Best Dance Event, Best Global Club amongst many others.

Basshunter ‘Now You’re Gone’ - at No 1 in the midweeks without any national radio airplay

Basshunter is sitting at No 1 in the midweeks, knocking off the X Factor winner. He’s achieved this without ANY national radio airplay.

DJ and Cyber Geek Jonas Altberg, aka Basshunter, wrote the European hit in his bedroom. The track, about his love for a girl he met on the internet, captured the hearts of Sweden and it went on to become an instant online phenomenon. It smashed its way to the top of the charts across Scandinavia and within weeks he had become their biggest debut selling artist ever!

With meteoric momentum Basshunter exploded internationally, going onto secure the number 1 spot in Holland, Belgium and Luxembourg. The track also caught on in Germany where it successfully stayed at the top end of the charts for six months! He’s now about to score his first UK No 1 with the English version of this track.

Perfecto Launches Digital Label [news]

Paul Oakenfold's Perfecto Records label is launching downloadable music operations by linking up with INgrooves digital distribution, it was announced today. "I'm really excited to have this new face to the label, which is going to open the door for a lot of upcoming, talented artists and producers," Oakey states. "It feels like we've had so much great music locked away for a while, and now we have the chance to unleash it."

Online releases will start dropping in February via iTunes, Beatport and other outlets. Digital tracks will include the Liam Shachar remix of Leya's "On All My Sundays," Adam White's remix of Nat Monday's "Break & Fall," Robert Vadney's "Sledgehammer," and Jeckyll & Hyde's trance anthem, "Frozen Flame."
