Season Greetings From Leon!
“At the end of 2009 I'd like to have the opportunity to address my fans and everyone else who are reading this. Yet again it’s been incredible - one where I’ve had the honour of debuting in new countries and I must say I enjoyed it to the bone! I have seen so many passionate crowds in the last 12 months, and each time realized how lucky I am, being able to share with you what I enjoy most - the music! In between all the travelling I have been busy in my studio - the previous bulletins already told you all much about that. I’m also proud that this year I released Streamlined 2009 - my first solo DJ mix compilation, as well as a bunch of well received tracks and remixes. Next to this you’ve probably noticed that I wanted to expand Streamlined’s concept – radio shows, mix CDs and now club nights.
I was also voted 63rd biggest DJ of the world because of you, the fans, the music lovers, & the audience – I feel the greatest gratitude for that, from the bottom of my heart. Heh, you made my year! Have a Merry Christmas, a great 2010, maybe see you in Club Poema on Boxing Day or Gatecrasher during NYE!'” [Full Story]
It’s finally here! The world’s biggest trance event, Trance Energy, is announcing its full line-up today. It includes a full-packed program featuring the biggest names in trance and the hottest up and coming new talents, alongside old favorites. So, which artists can we expect to see hitting the stage at the Jaarbeurs in Utrecht on Saturday April 3rd?
Trance Energy will be held in four areas, each with its own character and style, introducing a whole new generation of acts never heard before in the Jaarbeurs. As every year there is the massive Mainstage. Furthermore there are a Hard Stage for the harder edge of trance and the future stage, which is hosted this year by Trance.nu. Contrary to previous announcements, there will be no Dutch stage this year. Instead, a strong combi line-up presented by High Contrast Records and Marco V's In Charge Records will take over in fitting style. So, still plenty of Dutch talent on show plus enough room to squeeze in a special guest performance from Cosmic Gate. [Full Story]

Christopher Lawrence gives FREE U2 bootleg REMIX to public
America's top trance DJ and producer, Christopher Lawrence has released a free download of his bootleg remix of U2's massive single 'I'll Go Crazy If I Don't Go Crazy Tonight'.
The single is the fifth track from U2's new album 'No Line on the Horizon'. It was one of the highlights of U2's recent European leg of the tour.
'I'll Go Crazy If I Don't Go Crazy Tonight' was originally released in the UK in September 2009 by Mercury. Other artists who have released remixes include Dirty South, Fish Out Of Water, and Redanka.
Christopher Lawrence's remix received widespread support from the World's top jocks and radio stations when it was originally promo'd and has now been made available as a free download to the public. He kicks up the energy level a notch with this hot remix built around a groovy acid bass line and syncopated percussion. Use of the original vocals create dancefloor tension in the build up out of the breakdown. Classic progressive house and trance sounds were used effectively but sparingly to give the track room to breathe. [Full Story]
It’s a competitive game – dance music. Millions of people are striving to break through but only a select few ever make it to the top of the pyramid.
The old adage “It’s not what you know but who you know that counts” couldn’t fit better. Sure; talent, motivation and enthusiasm are essential components in your rise to the top, but are they as important as good contacts?
Joy To The (Trance) World! - Solarstone's Seasonal Message...
"Here inside the 10 inch thick walls of the SolarHome, protected from the wildest elements of the winter weather, the fairy lights have come down from the loft and the tree - an unusual 18ft evergreen Prussian/Norweigian crossbreed! - has been erected dangerously close to the blazing hearth (that's olde English for 'large fireplace'). Dafydd Rees Jones, the local butcher - (purveryor of Camarthanshire's finest hung rabbit & sheep since 1898) is under starters orders and the greengrocer (that's: vegetable vendor), well 1 of his wheels came off his cart whilst trying to deliver my 88 Ibs of roasting carrots & parsnips. Yes, Christmas is about to descend upon the world once again and with it hopefully some good cheer! Wherever you are in the 4 corners, my best wishes to you and yours - when it gets here, a very, very Happy Christmas!" [Full Story]

Markus Schulz - "Do You Dream" / "The New World" Remixes
Despite operating in a production capacity under his Dakota alias for much of 2009, many will regard Markus Schulz’s highlight of the year as the release of the first single from his upcoming artist album, and the followup to 2008 Transmission theme “The New World”. The track in question of course, is “Do You Dream”.
As another Coldharbour Day celebration passed during the summer, Do You Dream caused havoc across the European festival circuit, as well as on the dancefloors of clubs from The Guvernment in Toronto, to the world famous Amnesia in Ibiza. The release saw Markus produce two versions, with the Uplifting Mix proving to be his weapon of choice, and engineered some huge, emotionally-charged reactions from those in attendance at the World Tour recordings in Prague and St. Petersburg. DBS Radio resident DJ John De La Mora has started a new show: The Techno Trance Radio Show! He has also launched a new website:http://www.technotrance.org
It was the question that was pondered on the forums of trance sites around the world… Where did Holland’s Tsunami Records go? A legendary imprint in the purest sense, it was our first contact with System F’s ‘Out of the Blue’, Gouryella’s ‘Gouryella’ and a feast of other Ferry Corsten material. Latterly it also introduced us to Ronald van Gelderen and Matti Laamanen, and that’s before you get into material from Tatsumaki, Carnal, Tremolo and the rest of their myriad of sub-labels. Phew!
Well the answer to the original question we still don’t know! The important news though is that they’re back!! Through equally legendary parent label Purple Eye, a newly revitalised and reinvigorated Tsunami has returned, head tucked down and a meaningful look in its eyes. The first digital release is the 10 year anniversary salute to Project Aurora's 'Sinners'. This classic Ferry Corsten and Lucien Foort production is now available on Beatport through with new remixes by Peter Gelderblom, Soliquid and Groovelift. Through the just-signed first-time digital deals, all those Ferry, Armin, Barthezz & Afterburn (aka Agnelli and Nelson) classics will become available as downloads for the first time. [Full Story]

“2009 - one of the best years of my life” says Swedish House Mafia man Steve Angello. We’re not surprised – what with their first successful season at Pacha in Ibiza, sold-out solo shows across the world, and their huge remix of Robin S’ Show Me Love, he and his two Swedish buddies have every reason to be chuffed.
His 2009 has been compiled in a new, er, compilation for Defected, snappily titled Steve Angello: The Year Book – rounding up his biggest production moments from the past 12 months. It highlights his drive to focus on original productions rather than endless remixes (he turned down Britney and Madonna) – as he says, “I do not want to be known solely as the remixer”
Trance Energy… Nowadays we reckon it pretty much qualifies April’s reason to exist! This year Trance.nu are hosting the Future Stage at the event and they’ve drawn up a short list of 20 acts they’d like to see play it. Who makes the final 7… well that’s down to you, dear reader! W&W are on that list and the big ‘vote-on’ has just started via the site. We’d love you to send our boys to downtown Utrecht and here’s how you can say: ‘YES to W&W at Trance Energy 2010!’ Step 1: hit the site. If you don’t already have an account, take Step 2: and set one up (it’s a doddle!). Step 3: poll a vote for them. If they play, they promise you a ballistic, bombastic performance, the likes of which you’ve never seen! Nice. [Full Story]

Speaking to Tilllate magazine, he said: “I always had my own label with Black Hole Recordings, but I wanted to move on, and the only way you can do that is to start all over again. Because it’s a whole new point in my career, I wanted to be 100% in control of a new label too. Black Hole was a 50/50 partnership and I think I lost a bit of control with it towards the end, to be honest. I’m going to do whatever I feel like with Musical Freedom. I’m going to put out the music I like.” [Full Story]

I do hope you all like my compilation... I did put a lot of hard work into it... Literally mixed my hands away to bloody stumps. Disapointing to see that of the promos that we sent out of my album some people decided to share it on the internet... How nice of them... I mean really, you get sent music for FREE and all we ask is that you give us your thoughts and that you DON'T share it. Is that too hard??? WTF is wrong with people? You work in an industry that you are killing by filesharing... You are effectively signing your own P45 you cunts. [Full Story]

Light and Dark is the culmination of Lee’s nearly 20 years on the forefront of electronic music and takes listeners through a history of electronic music, whether they know it or not.
The album carries the raw essence and edginess of 1991’s burgeoning musical birth without seeming contrived. Lee has managed to warp time it seems by creating a masterpiece of a record that seamlessly blends his musical experience and genius from both the past and the present. Grimey old school analog sounds fused with bold techy drum progressions and the BIG tech funk sound that Lee is known for.
The innovative use of vocal cuts and Lee’s innate ability to infect all his music with that little touch of dirty sonic mayhem really take this record to the next level. [Full Story]
